As a highly successful entrepreneur who built the LVL XIII luxury fashion company from the ground up, Antonio Brown brings drive, inspiration and vision to his role as the founding executive director of Dream of Humanity, Inc. Antonio’s entrepreneurship programs disrupt traditional business school models by providing hands-on entrepreneurial training and wraparound supports to thousands of young people from economically disadvantaged communities. Kirk Brown is a senior development and advancement professional who is highly skilled in raising resources for organizations. His record for one night’s work is $12 million. He has a decade of experience in business development, branding, management, and strategic partnerships. For Dream of Humanity, Kirk cultivates impactful partnerships with corporate leaders and philanthropists. His many honors include being recognized by the Atlanta Business Chronicle as a “Who’s Who 30 Under 30” and by Georgia State University as a top “40 under 40.” He has a passion for leading transformation in underrepresented communities through social enterprise.
A lifelong advocate for social justice, equity in education, and community coalition building, Maryam Diaab brings 20 years of experience in project management and 15 years of experience in mentoring diverse, historically underserved youth to the Dream of Humanity team. She develops and oversees program components, provides training to students at districts and higher education campuses. Maryam holds a bachelor’s degree in social welfare from UC Berkeley and a master’s degree in public administration with an emphasis in nonprofit management.
A results-oriented and highly motivated professional, Kristen has extensive experience in event management within the nonprofit sphere. She has overseen many events grossing over $250,000. For Dream of Humanity, she creates and executes special event designs, overseeing all logistics for the organization’s signature events and fostering donor, venue, and vendor relations in support of the organization’s vision. Her passionate work ethic and incredible networking ability contribute immensely to the team’s fundraising success. Kristen holds a bachelor’s degree in telecommunications with a minor in entrepreneurship.
An advocate for students and young adults, Katie Sandberg taught K-12 outdoor science before finding her calling in nonprofit development and communications. She has since raised over $25 million for education and social service organizations through grant, donor, conference, and membership communications. For Dream of Humanity, Katie collaborates with team members and partners to develop content, design programs, and secure funding so historically underrepresented people can transform their passions into prosperous businesses and careers. She holds a bachelor’s degree in scientific illustration and a master’s degree in education.
In her role as the Director of Curriculum for Dream of Humanity, Slma Shelbayah draws upon her dual career paths of journalism and instruction at the post-secondary level to help create and refine curriculum that will best guide students toward a bright future. Slma has over a decade of experience in broadcast media as a reporter, show host, editor, writer, commercial talent, voice-over artist and producer. She is also an adjunct professor of business and mass communication. She speaks English, Arabic and Spanish and has earned a bachelor’s degree in journalism and a master’s degree in applied linguistics.
